Ah, I have experience and have been practicing!  I've made several
peanut flutes, but by the time I'm finished making a peanut flute I'm
hungry and eat it.  So I wanted to try something I was not tempted to
eat....

Perhaps you should consider practicing your flute making with a chicken
wing bone for experience.

  Did they not have Giraffes back in pre-15th century?  After show and
tell can I have the Giraffe bone to make a flute?  PlEEESE?!?!?!?!
