Greetings my dear Ericus,
I understand the Barony is not supposed to pay the rental fee for the
building use for events unless we advertise the event, have members sign
waivers, and have non-members pay the non-member fee, and since Bordermarch's
Twelfth Night has always been a "non-event" gathering, with no waivers
required, I personally paid the fee, plus the deposit and clean-up fee, and it
was decided to ask for a $5 donation for adults at the door, with a $1 fee
for children ages 6 - 12. By the time feast started, we had not only
collected money to repay the amount paid to the Church, but also $192 additional.
The Barony might decide to keep this amount in a separate fund (not mixed
with baronial funds) to use for future Twelfth Night events expenses. I am
going to put the funds in a marked account for the Barony members to use
for next year's use, with the guidelines of our Treasurer.

Excellencies,
I arrived late and the 'gate' was already closed. I got so caught up in
saying
"hello" to folks that I neglected to find the gate keeper. If someone
could tell
me where to send my fee (there were three of us), I will get it to you
ASAP.
Thank you,
EricS

Subject: [Bordermarch] 12th Night
Hello One and All,
What a GREAT 12th Night we had this year. Lady Angelica (I will learn to
pronounce correctly this year) and her Crew did an outstanding job keeping
it
all together for the day. Thank you L. Angel for organizing it at the last
minute and then of coarse running it through out the day. Many thanks also
to
all who helped L Angel make this happen. Some of you are new to the SCA,
some
just visiting and others old hats but each of you added to our experience
and
we thank you.
The food was plentiful thanks to all that provided & the fighting was
mighty
thanks to Lord Chritian and Lord Zain. We had twenty total participants
demoing
their talents in chivalric and/or rapier which is more fighters then in
recent
years. Along with the fighters were many visitors, friends and family.
Lady
Stephanie alone had 15 by her side getting to know what we were about.
Vivat L.
Stephanie!
Wolfstar made a great showing and had links and Baudoin cooking for all to
partake of. Thank you Wolfstar it was so good to have you back. Vivat!
HE AmberLea along with her two beautiful daughters helped us sing for our
supper. As always you sounded wonderful. It brings back so many memories
for us
when you sing. Vivat as well!
We had 77 folks sign in but there were another 20-25 spectators who stayed
through out the day so over all a very successful 12th Night Gathering.
Thank
you HE Valencia for your time greeting folks at the door as well as your
generous donation to the facility in order to make this gathering happen.
You
have been a true and noble friend to Bordermarch and we thank you from the
bottom of our hearts.
Lord Beau and Lady Karen loudly but eloquently presented us with a
Baronial
Pickle and Pickle Fork that we will treasure for years. It's all based on
the
yodeling pickle that L. Karen has and HE Santiago has yet to see or hear.
"The
Baronial Pickle" will be taken everywhere. To be continued.....
Lord Calvin received a wonderful personal gift from Lord Christian for
fighting
undefeated and was named 12th Night Baronial Champion. There were many
styles of
rapier fighting demonstrated and he gracefully fought through them all.
Vivat.
And last but not least Yule Ms Rule was crowned being a first time visitor
from
Buna but attends a college in Huntsville. I believe her name was Mickey.
She
chose m'Lord Tavon(sp) to Rule with her and had what looked like a great
time.
We so hope they will return and become a part of the Bordermarch family it
was
great serving beside them.
And as always thanks for your continued love, support and friendship this
past
year. Santiago and I can never repay you by words, thoughts or deeds for
all you
have done to inspire us.
May God bless and touch each of your lives this year,
Elisabeth and Santiago
