Most gatherings are an all day affair with classes, demo's and fighting planned under the trees. Bards usually serenade us and light finger foods are on hand through out the day.  This is a way to introduce new and old friends to the SCA as well as get to know each other better. Volunteers are always needed for classes. There are no fees just fun!
