It is not always easy to think of the administrative name for an
area when it is impersonal and external. By doing groundwork to
propose a new name for the region, I believe that we will strengthen
the level and results of such inter-group cooperation. More
participation, higher attendance levels for smaller group's events,
more willing assistance with running those events, better
recruitment efforts.
This opens the opportunity for me to say what I didn't get the chance
to say at the principality discussion. I feel that the "lack of
cohesiveness" in the region and the problems that the small groups
are having are not related.
I have always felt that Black Oak Keep and it's neighbors worked well
together. But I have also felt that was unique in the region. Our
is not a problem of low event attendence (how many groups of this
size have put on three coronations in four years with attendence of
over 490 each, and our local event has had growing attendence through
the years), and our neighbors have always come to our assistance when
asked to do so. I really don't belive that any additional amount
of involvement from the outside would have saved the shire.
I don't know what particular difficulties the other groups have had,
but in our case I feel sure that becoming a Pricipality would neither
have helped nor hindered us.
I would like at this time to thank everyone that has supported the
Shire through the years. Your assistance was invaluble and aways
most appreciated.
And have no fear, Black Wolf Tavern is still scheduled to be at
Steppes Warlord.
