Greetings one and all,
1453 AD, the previously obscure clan of the Osmanli, breached the walls and
conquered the Byzantine capital of Constantinople. But the Byzantine Empire,
weakened by repeated Mongolian sacking, suffering from subsequent internal
confusion, and with no powerful leadership to guide them, fell to the
Turkish invaders.
Now as we are settling into our new home comes a most unsettling rumor. We
hear whispers in the halls at night. They say the Valide's life is in
danger. What can this mean for us? Who is suspected of planning her demise?
Trust only in the spies you have paid, and watch everything that you eat and
drink.
You are invited to attend a most entertaining day in the Canton of Gate's
Edge in the Barony of Stargate.
Site fee: $8 Adult    $4 for children 12 ~6, 5 and under free.
Feast fee: $7 Adult  $3 for children.
Site opens at 9 AM and closes at 10 PM
Canton Champions for the Following will be chosen.
Rapier,  Dance, Game, Arts & Sciences, Children's' and Equestrian.
This will be the preliminary 3 of 5 for those wishing to compete for the
title of over-all champion
Rapier : Escape the heat this summer, The tourney will be held indoors in a
great hall. The floor surface is new condition tile. The list will be 5
rounds. All fighters will fight all 5 rounds.
Round 1: Rapier and dagger
Round 2: Rapier and cloak
Round 3: Rapier and buckler
Round 4: Fighter's Choice
Round 5: Tavern Brawl
Bring your silly or strange secondaries for the tavern brawl. Secondaries
for the tavern brawl must be non-lethal. Pick-up fights will be allowed in
the hall, after the tourney. Armor inspection will begin at 9:30 am, and the
list will start at 10:30 am. Please join us, and help make Mid Summer Faire
XII the best rapier tourney ever.
A & S Each entrant must submit a minimum of two works
that represent the same craft, documentation preferred.

1. Sennet
2. Nine Man Morris
3. Backgammon
4. Naughts and Draughts
5. Pente
The winner will be chosen by the most games won.
There will also be a bake sale and a silent auction to assist TRM's trip to
Lochac.

First Remove: Iced Almond Soup, Feta cheese in Olive Oil Vinaigrette,
Assorted Salads, Fruit Kabobs & Flat Bread
Second Remove: Circassian Chicken, Afghani Rice, Adzharian Style Green
Beans, Aromatic Sorbet
Third Remove: Kofte (skewered and roasted spiced meat),
Bulgar Pilau Mung Bean, Scallion and Pomegranate Salad, Spiced Almonds,
Baklava
