[DFT] Guardian of the Tor

We hope to see all of you next week at Guardian of the Tor at Middlefair (State 
Hwy 171 and Co Rd 1458), just outside Hillsboro, TX

Join us as we honor our Mothers and choose our champions   in  Chivalric, 
Rapier, Archery, and Bardic. 


There will be a pot luck feast    Saturday evening, so please bring one of your 
favorite dishes to share  (enough to feed you and at least 3 other people). It 
would be  appreciated if you would provide a card listing your ingredients for  
people with allergies. We need main courses, salads, vegetables, and  desserts.


The Barony of Elfsea is providing a complementary lunch  side-board from 12pm - 
1pm on Saturday, until the food is gone. HL  Elspeth de Stervlen is cooking! The 
menu is shredded bbq chicken  po-boys, red potato salad, beef fajita tacos, 
refried beans, iced tea  and lemonade.


Bardic Competition Information:

There is no theme but anyone who does a piece about  Mothers may get extra 
points. Be prepared to perform two pieces.  Finalists will perform at the pot 
luck feast celebration. You may  preform a new piece or one you used during the 
competion .

From Stephenville, Texas it is about an hour and a half drive - 80 miles
Take US 281 S about 20 miles to Hico
Merge into Texas Hwy 6 E in Hico (Continue straight) and travel 22 miles to 
Meridian
Turn left onto Texas Hwy 22 travel about 37.4 miles to Hillsboro
Turn left onto Texas Hwy 171 travel about 5.3 miles to Co. Rd 1458
Turn left onto Co. Rd 1458 (portions unpaved) follow SCA Signs
 
 From Fort Worth, Texas it is about 59  min drive time – 55 miles south
Take I-35W south about 37  miles
Take the FM-67 exit, EXIT 12, toward Covington .  .3 of a mile
Turn right onto FM-67.  7 miles
Turn left onto S Main/TX-171. Continue to follow TX-171.  8.6 miles

Turn right onto HCR-1458(Portions unpaved).   Follow the SCA signs

From Dallas, Texas it is about 1 hour  and 13 min drive time – 68 miles south.
Take I-35E south about 57  miles
Merge onto TX-579-SPUR S via EXIT 370 toward Hillsboro .  1.5 miles
Merge onto TX-81 S  2.2miles
Turn right onto W Elm St/TX-22/TX-171.   .3 miles
