Okay, let's all calm down and remember some very basic facts.

1.  The best form of government is the one that governs the least.
(sorry for the paraphrase)

2.  This is a VOLUNTEER organization, you do not have to pay to play.

3.  Instead of setting up rules, posting forbidden items, remember that
we are here to research and recreate - that means we are all teachers
too, for we share what we learn.  If something is blantantly mudane,
help educate, not set up prohibitions against.  Try to redirect efforts
- I mean really, how period are chukka boots with uppers sewn on.

4.  As to soccer cleats - I think that can be covered by the Kingdom
Knights Marshall, it is after all their office (Come to think of it, I
can think of quite a few lists I have been it that it would have been
nice to not slip, but then, I also had honorable opponents when I did
slip...) 

Most don't wear cleats of any kind in their efforts to recreate, so
gently urge the wearer to do something else - honestly, do you think
these would be knights wearing the cleats or newby's......
