This, my friends, is how things are done in Ansteorra. If you want to
encourage something, offer to sponsor it. In Elfsea, the only objection you
will hear is "When will we have time?". If you think your favorite activity
needs more attention, propose something to the autocrat of the next event.
Allow enough time to prepare for it, and be flexible. (For example, the
ATYC schedule is full already.)

Finding a prize takes imagination, not money. Make something, or commission
it to be made. Ask for donations. Shop the thrift stores and fabric sales.
The merchants at the Highland games had some nifty stuff. Think about what
people could use: brewers need bottles, needleworkers need embroidery
floss, everybody needs lunch.

If your activity doesn't turn out like you wanted, try again. Advertise
more. Schedule it for a time or event that is not as busy. Ask people for
help. Mostly, don't worry that everyone doesn't want to do your favorite
thing.
