ES - FW: Barrier

I talked to Ozzy about painting the barrier, and he said that since it is
made from treated lumber it won't take paint very well.  He suggested wood
burning to mark it with heraldry.

How about putting the arms of past Defenders as a series, and adding
each year?  Not only very period practice (e.g. Garter Chapel in Windsor
Castle), but in the long run that kind of thing is useful both with
baronial feeling and with newcomers.
