Well, toys......in period
blocks
stickhorse
rag dolls
tops
drums
felt or leather balls
bowling type games
boche
croche
jugeling
Any toy a mom or dad could make,
Also activety they might have done as chores 
since they arn't chores to our kids they could be fun.

telling storys
drawing 
painting
sewing
weaving
carding wool
working leather

One thing to remember is a new toy is more 
fun than a old toy.....keeping the event toys 
only as event toys prolongs thier fun.
Just some advice from one mom to another.
