Ceatta you poor thing, no wonder you're confused!
Which, by the way, I can fully understand, being born Irish, raised in
Ireland until the age of 8, then roaming with gypsies and scalawags
throughout Europe into the Middle East and back again, then disguising myself
as a cabin boy at 13 and taking up arms going to sea with English, then
eloquently appropriating (ahem!) a ship of my own at age 17 at saber-point,
christening her the Sea Siren to plunder, er, um, excuse me, I mean
'persuade' the good Captains of other vessels to part with their cargos of
wonders--for the express benefit of the Crown, of course--during which time I
think I had the usual few love affairs (not quite sure about some) and gained
the appropriate documentation (I believe in the terms of polite company it's
called a Letter of Marque) to further my interesting journeys, which in time
grew somewhat monotonous prompting me to retire (?) to my country estate on
the coast of France and oversee my few other ships and interests, and was
enticed into wedlock by the most roguishly handsome French joungaliere' (whom
wishes to remain anonymous which is just fine by me because I really don't
want him to suspect anything about my slightly less then pristine past) and
now I am penning my memoirs and we live a nice, quiet, country life... shhh!!
(don't tell anyone!)
Me? Confused? Not really. Unfortunate? Nope. Still, I wonder what it is
about the lure of the sea...
