Just remember, the squeaking wheel is the first one that gets greased.<G>

Bicé here and I have a few observations. I agree with Darius that our
ideas of what a page is, differs greatly. What you are suggesting sounds
more like a school to me, which is not bad if you can get the children
involved. But at their age, the word 'class' sounds a lot like a four
letter word. In my minds eye, a page is a young person sent to live with
an older person to learn everything they can teach them. Sometimes with a
special interest involved. You mentioned several areas of arts and
fighting. There are many more things for young people to learn. Areas of
service and the correct way to do it. This would cover a large group of
activities; how to serve high table, how to set up troll gate and handle
all problems involved ( you could remind them that sitting troll is the
best way to meet a lot of people and put names and faces together), how to
lay out a campsite for a group of people ( including digging a proper fire
pit ), how to lay out the various list fields, how to be a list mistress or
master ( yes guys can do it too ). These are just a few of the things they
can't learn in a classroom. And remember, you don't have to be an expert
to teach a beginner something. An everyday cook can teach someone to boil
an egg and peel veggies; you don't have to be a chef.

I guess what I am saying is that the young person just hang out with you
and do what you are doing or do what the people you are with, are doing.
Like when I sit and talk to Baron Galen and he is making chain mail; my
page could get a quick lesson in that while we visit. Then go sit troll
for a couple of hours and after that just wander around and help where
needed and learn in the process.

Keep in mind that this comes from an old ( not elderly ) lady; but one that
has raised 4 children that vary widely in age. From 45 down to 28, both
sexes. I raised a tomboy besides a guy that likes to cook ( some may have
met him on the list field ).

Your idea is very good and workable for some people but is a little to
structured for me. I think they should learn without realizing they are
doing it. And have fun in the process.

Just my 2¢ worth today.

Bicé

PS: Darius, try holding down the alt key and putting in the number 0162 on
your keypad. On my keyboard this gets me a ¢ sign.
