ES - alternative tent/bed warmers

this reminds me of the old bed warmer pans. They were merely a pan simular to a small cast iron skillet (except lighter)with a lid (of course) inwhich to put hot coals. They had a very long handle so as to move it about under the bedding (nothing you'd want to sleep with unless you're in to pain). I would wonder as to how they kept from scorching the bedding though.
