Ok I did not read the first post. I usually stay out of it since I live in
Shreveport. (working on getting home.) But as past Elfsea hospitilar if I did
what you proposed we would not have had many new comers and some of the most
wonderful people would not be in Elfsea now.
EACH person has different needs and they need to be met. Some people you do
best to let wander. Others it is good to have a series of classes for them.
Such as how to make a T-tunic. I have even seen newcomers groups just for
them that give some people the support and encouragement they need. If we did
not see things like this many of the great people in Elfsea and the area
would not excist today. We don't want to scare anyone off but we want to give
them the oppertunity. When I got here I would have loved for someone to say.
Oh you don't know were the meeting is ? I live down the street would you like
to follow me to the meeting??? A friendly call back to check on the person
and make sure they have all the info they need. You have to reach that
friendly hand out. It is up to them to grab it or not. You really have to
believe in it. And yes the hospitaler need to know a little about a lot of
things to give a deacent answer with the direction to the person who has more
information. Being a Hospitaller is not an easy job. It also take the work of
the rest of the group to help you make it work.
