Dux,

    I understand your distaste for pre-registering considering your plight last year. The issues with the land in your area last year has been discussed and looked at.  And indeed you did seem to get the short end of the stick and for that I personally apologize.  I know the issue is being looked into further, I will contact Pendaran and see exactly what has been done to correct further incedents such as you had.  As for pre-registration I still highly urge everyone to do so.  "Open camping" and its size and convience is never assured.  It is all based off of what is *left* and that (size,location, and quality of land) is never set nor guareenteed. If you pre-register your space *is* guaranteed. Plus registration offers the ability to have set aside land for groups rather than trying to find nicks and crannies big enough to fit your tent in the "left over" spaces. The crews for land try their best to make sure that the space registered for is provided  and that the land is of good quality.  The land that you were in last year was new and had never been previously used if I remember correctly and unfortunaltly luck did not seem to be in its favor...agian I apologize for that.  But lesson learned...so as for what has been done to correct that I will get you the details. I hope that I can help change last years experience with the land and pre-registration and make this year a much better experience for you...I will do all that I can to make it happen.
