[Elfsea] Kingdom Bids --- Question?

Greetings from Mistress Stella-
I may be out of date on some of this information, but I'm pretty sure that
any money from an official SCA event has to go to an SCA account.
Individuals may bid to host a Kingdom event, but the money for SCA
sanctioned events has to go to an SCA account. So if an unofficial group
such as a household wanted to host a Kingdom event, the Kingdom would front
the money and the Kingdom would get all the profit from the event. In that
case, you would probably have to work directly with the Kingdom officers
about all the financial matters regarding the event and possibly set up a
temporary account to receive and disburse the funds for the event.
Unofficial groups such a households that hold their own events do not do it
as an official SCA event. They can put a paid advertisement in the Black
Star, but they can not put the event on the official event calendar or
receive awards from the Crown.
In service, HE Stella

Actually, you are correct.

If there was a Group of people who had their collective 'stuff' together,
who also had
their own seed money / accounts / people, that they could in fact submit a
bid directly
to the Kingdom to host the event.

I do understand that as a courtesy it is good to inform the Baron and
Baroness of the
area that the planned event will be taking place in, plus the Baron and
Baroness of
whom any of your people are attached to. And it is a good idea to ask them,
plus your
Peers to review your bid (if you have any hopes of actually getting it) to
see where
you could improve upon it. But this stage of approval / disapproval is
about Money,
'Are you (and your people) Serious', and have you thought of everything.

In this case, The Group would need to provide a little more 'proof' of their
intentions
to host the event in a manner befitting the Crown. But this would review
the stress a
little bit from the local Barony and has the benefit of advancing The Group
as a whole
. . . Particularly if The group were Kingdom-wide or Known World.

PS.: Not that I plan on doing it today . . . . . But just doing some
serious thinking.
