It is worth thinking about. Canton might not be the right place as it is
pretty expensive. We need to get a big turnout to make it pay. It also does
not really have classrooms. We could partition the hall into class areas. We
have done that before with smaller halls. Springfaire started out as a "fun
event" where we could blow off steam and just have fun. And, you are right,
it has become another standard event in many ways. It was still a lot of fun
this year, but it was not the Barony's "twinkie" any more.

Is there a reason why a Baronial College couldn't be a weekend camping event
like Springfare.  If done someplace like Canton with the big hall and
campgrounds it could be pulled off.  Throw the Bardic competition and
perhaps a brewers competition to the evening on Saturday and have classes
both indoors and outdoors if weather permits.  Throw in authorizations or
classes on tactics and skills for the fighters.

 

My few experiences with Springfair were that it was like every other tourney
event.   Making it into a college event would be a refreshing change from
the usual tourney pace.
