Greetings!!

I welcome one and all to Glaslyn's event and to my Feather fan making class!!!
We will have a lot of fun learning how to construct a good usable feather fan!
I wanted to send a quick note to let all interested gentles know what is needed
for the class, and some hints on where to get your materials.
Materials needed:
12-14 nice ostrich feathers.  I you want a showy big fan, buy more, bigger
feathers.  The bigger the feathers, the closer to God.  They will be used!
Color totally up to you!  Please be wary, any feather over 15 inches
is a Plume and better for Hats than fans.  Stick with the 8-13 inch feathers and
you will be very happy with the result.
A handle.  My Favorite is a paintbrush!!! Yep! go to Home Depot or the like and
pick up a nice paintbrush with a wooden handle.  You can also use an old wooden
spatula, or a nice handle you have around the                   house, but a
paintbrush works a real treat.
Some fabric to cover the handle....just a little is needed - not required but
makes a pretty fan!!!!!

Some ribbon or trim to hide the seams.....2 yards is plenty - not required but
makes a pretty fan!!!
A small mirror (if you want to get fancy)
A hot or warm glue gun - this is a MUST HAVE, I have 3 that I will bring, please
bring one if you have one and LOTS OF GLUE STICKS!!!!
Sissors - old yucky ones that have seen better days but still work.....NOT THE
GOOD ONES that you hide from your kids!

Now, where to get the feathers?  Hobby Lobby, Michal's and even JoAnn fabrics
carry some feathers that will work just fine.  If you are looking for a certain
color or amount of feathers, please look online....I am sorry but my wholeseller
went out of business last year.  I am looking a Lamplight Feathers for my fan
this year, check them out at www.tonyhill.net  they have a good selection and
good prices.

I will not be bringing extra feathers or handles to the class.

If you have any questions, just drop me a line, or call 817-300-4729.

Thank you so much and I look forward to seeing you there!!!

HL Toryn Seven-Stitches
