[Elfsea] Populace Meeting

     I also brought up the Gear It Forward plan, designed to get more of our heavy and light fighters armored and ready to start fighting faster.  The way that you can help is to donate gear that is not currently in use.  We don't need financial limitations to be a reason for a member not to be able to fight if they want to.  The donated gear will be the property of The Barony of Elfsea, and handed out to those who show an interest in fighting.  The agreement is that if they discontinue fighting, the gear will be returned.  

I will do everything possible to be at Sunday Practice to collect donations, although we are also celebrating my son's birthday that day.

To add to this missive;

We are now asking for bids for Elfsea Baronial College, to be held 23 August, 2014.

The Heralds Office is now open, if you are interested in becoming our Baronial Herald please let us know.  If you have questions regarding the office, please ask.

Populace for May will be at the new library in Bedford at 2424 Forest Ridge Rd just past Bedford Rd, on the 19th which is the third Monday (the 4th is Memorial Day and the library is closed) at 7:00pm.

Greetings Elfsea!

We had a great time at Populace last night.  Thank you to everyone that showed up.  The discussions were outstanding.

To recap the meeting:

1.) Populace vote was unanimous, therefore we are going back to garb at all Populace meetings.  :)

2.) May's Populace meeting will be held at a new venue, the Bedford Library.  Look for more information soon from our Seneschal, Master Sebastian.  Thank you very much Mistress Michelle Chantal de Charente for this great new site!   Many thanks to Mistress Ameline du Bois for finding us 2-3 additional sites that we are going to try, as well. 

3.)  We discussed Sunday practice, being Populace in the Park, with mini tourneys, combining some with our neighbors - Barony of the Steppes, and  other ideas.  We are looking forward to firming this up in the near future.

4.) We also discussed the new Baronial Coronets.  His Excellency, Sir Alejandro, had plans in motion to secure new Baronial coronets.  We have decided to continue those efforts, and expand on it.  We announced a Coronet design party.  Please think about what you would want to see on the coronets, and submit a drawing, description or coloring of said design.  The few things to keep in mind: we have a great set of flat top coronets, we would like to see these keep the points and pearls concept.  Utilize the Baronial colors, the castle, the motto, the shell, anything from our achievement..... submit your ideas, at the Populace in June, we will bring all the ideas to the meeting, discuss them, and see what everyone likes.  Please keep in mind, whom  ever does make them may not be able to use the EXACT design that is submitted.  We will seek the counsel of, at least two, coronet artisans and see what elements they are able to use.  Then we will bring those back to the populace for final vote.  We are excited to see what it presented.

5.) If you are interested in being a member of the financial committee, please let us know by email.  Send it the exchequer, cc us please.

I am sure we have missed something, the evening was full of great ideas, and conversation.  Sebastian, could You fill in with any details we might have missed?
