Wow! I'll even say it backwards -- woW!

Neat stuff. I didn't know that. That may be why sometimes my neckline
looks really good and sometimes it could be a little better.

Thanks,
Caitlin

In addition, in case you did not already know----Your machine will
automatically slightly gather whichever material is on the bottom. The
feed of the machine does this unless you have a special running foot
attachment to replace your standard foot. If you use commercial patterns,
they take this into account so you always should have the back shoulder
piece on the bottom and the front shoulder piece on the top. Also, when
attaching collors, have the collar itself as the under material and the
neckline you are attaching to on the top.

Doing a slight gathering thread and then pinning is going to help you more
than just pinning. Pinning really does not compensate for the action of the
feed problem.
If you pin and then place the trim on the bottom side to do your sewing then
the feed of the machine will help you to make the "ease".

I just finished a special course in how to make your own patterns and
draping garments----This feed problem was hammered into us so the garments
would look professional. The newer Pfaff machines have upper and lower
feed for the material but all other machines have to have a special
attachment to rectify the problem.
