GE - Postings and castings

Tyr,

Let me apologize if you thought my message was in any way an attack on you.
You asked why I had suggested that it be moved elsewhere and I took the
opportunity to step up on a soapbox and proselytize netiquette. My aplogies
to any who were offended. I have heard others express that they found some
of the fancy fonts and backgrounds hard to read or garbled on their mail
readers so I thought is was appropriate. Once again I apologize if I
overstepped my bounds.

As far as the topic of casting and forming some sort of guild or workshop to
explore this craft, I applaud your efforts and I am happy that there seem to
be many here who are interested in joining you. These types of crafts and
the fellowship that we share while enjoying them are a HUGE part of what the
SCA is all about. I have explored this myself, and I am certainly
interested but I currently have too many irons in the fire and if I am
handed another one I will surely get burnt. Therefore while I will point
you to the resources that I have and share what little I know I am afraid I
probably wont be joining you in the actual process. (I have no free time
right now)

Please continue your efforts, share you experience with others, but most
importantly enjoy it yourself.

I am NOT the list administrator here, only one of the huddled masses.
However, in my opinion The Gates Edge list is certainly the appropriate
place to announce when casting get together are taking place and to issue
invitations. It is also the appropriate place for questions like "Where in
the Gates Edge can I find x?" But I personally feel that once the
discussion drifts towards the 'details' of the casting hobby it should move
elsewhere rather than impose on the list members who do not share that
interest. The populace and the list administrator are free to overrule me.

What I had intended in my original statement of "Then I suggest that
this discussion be taken off this list." was that a separate list should be
formed for those of us in the area (including myself) who are interested in
the hobby.

Regards,

Eadric
