Yes, we can still have as many off calendar events as we want and 
we can still advertise them in the Black Star and we can try to 
make money off them.

About the only thing we can not do at off calendar events is have 
courts where awards are given out.

I agree that I cant see us loosing attendance if our site and feast 
fees are in line with other comparable events in the kingdom.  But 
making sure your site fee is regarded as being "in-line" with 
other "comparable" events is as a task sometimes easier said than 
done.  

I am hopeful that the change in kingdom law regarding calendar 
dates will encourage larger events but I think that it may take a 
couple of years for the travel and event attendance patterns of the 
kingdoms populace to change.  Also, currently the large number of 
unemployed members in certain areas as well as higher gasoline 
prices seems to have marginally hurt event attendance outside of 
local and close regional events (or at least that is my 
perception). I am hopeful that withing a few years we might be able 
to get our event attendance up above 200 (but currently except for 
special occasions, 200 would be a real good attendance for events 
from groups like the barony of the loch).
