More info on the demo at the East Texas Folk Festival. Raven's Fort is the lead group for this, but would welcome any help from us. Let's show them a big welcome and that the Coastal Region IS the place to be.
Cheers,
HL Caitlin, Carolyn, Lyn, Mom, Grandma

Carolyn...
Below is the message sent by Jean North inviting some SCA members (groups) to come out
and join them for The East Texas Folk Festival (Sam Houston).
The Barony of Raven's Fort has been asked by the Board of Directors for the
Folk Festival to participate this year. I have sent emails to the different groups that surround us
to come enjoy the festival and help out if they can.
Now if you are doing clan stuff thats great, but the SCA stuff is being done by the Barony of
Raven's Fort. If you wish to pass out some info about your group, we will be happy to
have your handouts at our space!
I have asked the Hospitaler from Gates Edge to ask the people of the Shire
if they can help out. I will have more information later.
Thank you for responding. If people want to help out then I really would like them to get in
touch with me and come help us out since we have been invited to do the demo there.
If you could pass on information that would be great. Also pass on my email address to any
SCA person who may be interested.
Thanks.

"The Sam Houston Folk Festival is April 29, 30 and May 1 in Huntsville, TX.
Would love to have you guys come and give me a hand - We have plenty of celtic
entertainment..... but need /scots/clans to share their heritage..... You could
set up your own clan or organization space or join me in the information tent in
the yard of the old house etc!! We missed you last year!!! Please come and
help the scots continue to be a part of the festival in the future. You could
also come as the Houston Highland Games Assn.....and push your own festival!!
We are moving the scottish village up further to a better spot this year...
It does not cost anything to participate or get a clan/organization space.
.
Jean North "

The 2011 St Thomas Episcopal School Scottish Festival will be held on
Friday, March 25th 7:30pm at the Wortham Center's Brown Theater (the
larger opera stage).
Tickets are only available through the Wortham Center (see the link
below) but the venue is much more comfortable with more luxury options
for patrons.

Come out "dressed to kilt". You'll enjoy a great evening of music and
dance.
