Here are the minutes of this evening’s business meeting courtesy of HL
Katya. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!  I truly appreciate her
volunteering to be my secretary.

 

AND now, what you’ve all been waiting for….

 

Business Meeting Notes

 

Date:  July 5, 2006

 

Meeting began at 7:47 called to order by HLy Marguerite.

 

Officers:

Arts and Sciences- first mini-collegium is set for August 5 on food:
handling, making bread, meat, with feast at the end with food made in the
classes.  $5 fee for food supplies, please let Nuala know if you’re coming.
Info in SteppesLetter and posted to list.  Will be held near the spillway in
White Rock.  Petruchio will be teaching and cooking (yum!)  This month:
Ansteorran Scribes and Heraldic Symposium.  July 29 will be Queen’s champion
and Masqued ball.  There will be an A&S display (body of work) to show
artisan’s progress.  Documentation not required.

 

Children:  good Boy Scout demo.  Fighting, dancing and pile-up on Phalen.
At “Believe it or not”, Willow had cooking classes for the kids.  Good
children’s activities, at Masqued ball, there will be some classes.  Parents
are needed to be more actively involved or classes will be cancelled (from
the kingdom).

 

Chirugeon- n/a

 

Chronicler- want to do a cover?, she is accepting.  Deadline comes early in
July.  There is an electronic version available, needs e-mail.

 

Equestrian-n/a

 

Exchequer-  $11415.29,  profit from Warlord $4144.69,  660+ in attendance

 

Herald-n/a

 

Historian- n/a

 

Hospitalier- Ly Constance will be assuming the office at Red Tape this
month.  Katheryn appreciates everyone’s help with the office.  Constance
comes highly qualified.  Constance is excited to be working with the
newcomers.

 

Marshals:

Heavy- practices are happening with no injuries.  

Light- n/a

Youth rapier- open for bids

Archery-n/a, next practice July 30 with 2 in August.  Will rotate between
Eastfield and Midlothian

            

Quartermaster: n/a, bids open

 

Seneschal-  populace on July 21 at Kalida and Thorkil’s.  Bids for Warlord
now open.  Close at Oct. populace.  Looks forward to 2 wonderful years, but
will need everyone’s help to make it all happen.  Please give her any
suggestions you have.  Appreciates opportunity to serve the Barony.  

 

Virtual Scribe- n/a, server issues?

 

Other business:

*	Heraldic/Scribal symposium in Waco.  Nuala will be teaching a class
on painting along with other classes.  July 22.  Scribal competition at
Coronation.  Color copies OK, bring in scrolls framed and under glass
(preferred)
*	Potters Guild wants to start up again.  Contact Hadassah for more
discussion.  Possible on second Thursdays starting in August.
*	Callig and Illum.  Painting continues, 
*	Bardic revel on the 20th at Miguel’s
*	Drumming guild starting at Xene’s house.  Organized by her son (?)
*	Dancing on Tuesdays
*	Loaner garb that is not functional:  we have clearance to do a
silent auction, proceeds to go back to newcomer functions (loaner armor,
etc.)  Have 6-8 buckets of clothing available, pictures online.
*	Does Hospitalier have a budget?  They have money for postage and
contact info.  They do not have monies available for fabric.
*	Katya to head Domesday committee with potential deadline of
December.
*	Willow and Jonathon’s home in need of help.  Silent auction for
crossbow brought $700-750.  Hadas will also be having a silent auction for
them.  There are also 2 other families with needs due to fires in the home.
*	Artisan coming on August 26, ad in Blackstar.  Lyneya is doing
artisan preregistration.  Website up now.
*	Fall court:  bids close July populace and announced at August
business meeting
*	12th night awarded to Phalen.  Theme:  Jerusalem during first
occupation of Crusade.  Mix of Arabic and 12th century European.  Will have
Kingdom Eisteddfod.  Has feast-o-crat already.  Needs other dept heads.
Looking for other sight, but will use Sokol in Ennis as back-up.

Baron/Baroness or Vicar/Vicaress:

v/v not available, this is their last meeting.

Their majesties were present and will be assuming the thrones after
coronation.  They said:  will be given their duchies then given back the
barony, do not panic!  Looking forward to canton and baronial events
(Queen’s, Artisan).  Gothic war will be fun (local “kidnapped”, ogre ball).
Bjornsburg 30th will be a reunion of Lioness and Lion’s Tourney, experience
the “old SCA”.  Looking forward to returning to the chairs.  Support the new
seneschal.  They have plenty of ideas for our future.  Oaks meeting at next
business meeting, same Starbucks.
