[Hellsgate] Black leather armor

Sword and a center grip round shield can work great. It is also very viking. It is an active defensive style and when done well it can be hard to get around. Then add a big centergrip like Lord Conrad has and that is next to impossible when done well.

With your light background florentine might work well for you M'lord Stephan I have yet to extensively work it myself thinking I should probably learn more of what I have been doing first lol

S/N I was interested though in something I saw at Crucible that being sword and buckler for heavy might work better then sword and heavy shield for me.
