I pitched more yeast into my first batch of mead today and now it's burping like a champ.
I also started a new batch today using 5 gallons of water, 22.5 gallons of honey, Lalvin K1-V116 yeast. I decided to experiment with the new yeast because this strain is reported to be tolerant of alcohol concentrations up to 18 percent (as oppose to the 14 percent that the D-47 can handle.) I will keep you all informed of it's progress.
