"(Fieldless) a phoenix per pale gules and Or, holding in its beak a ring
sable."

Drugan Draganov June of 2000:
"Per bend sinister Or and gules, a Russian firebird displayed
counterchanged."
There is a CD for fieldless. There should be one also for per pale gules
and Or bird vs per bend sinister gules and Or for the bird. These two are
too close together for my liking even though there is a technical CD.

Cassadoria Finialla March of 1994:
"Per pale gules and Or, a phoenix counterchanged."
Very close but clear with 1 CD for fieldless and a 2nd for changing
the tincture (reversing them actually).

Daniel did a good job of explaining why the Defender badge would get
skewered.

"(Fieldless) in saltire a stringed sewing needle and (calligrapher's) quill
sable, overall a phoenix per pale gules and Or."
Normally fieldless with an overall charge would get you sent to the time-out
chair. In this case, you can do it because the other charges are long
and skinny. The identifiability of the needle and quill still bothers me
here. It looks clear, which isn't surprising given the complexity and
unusual charges.
