All right, I'll try again.

Purple, three cheveronels disjointed under three fleur
de lis gold.

(this, My Lady, is a bad ASCII drawing!)

Who is Parker? A little more information on which
book to check, or not to check, would help.

I know broken chevrons are rare, but they are not
impossible. If this were easy, we wouldn’t need
heralds. My basic question was about the time frame.
When did they appear? If they are post-period, how
far? Who can say that this Lady from Nice wasn’t the
first to use them? Creative Anachronism or Compulsive
Authenticity?

Based on what Daniel posted, presumption is not a
problem. The field is purple, not blue.

Getting a little exasperated,

Colin

True, but it doesn't necessarily prohibit it, either.
