And there is a good reason why.
Cole and Kohl aren't place names and you need a
German place name to use with von.

Cole is in Reaney & Wilson under Cole as a given name
and as a byname for someone with a coal type complexion.
It is also English and couldn't be mixed with the
German von for that reason as well.

Kohl in middle High German would mean cabbage and von
Kohl would mean from the cabbage.  It is also is the
insult 'cabbage head'.

If the submitter wants a German name using von you
can try a modern map of Germany with the names in
German.  It might help if we knew what the submitter is
aiming for with the name.
