The reference for conventional proper coloration is Table 3 of the
Glossary of Terms.  It's at http://www.sca.org/heraldry/coagloss.html
Neither Bow nor Arrow is on the list, but Wood/Wooden items is.  Wood
proper is brown and classified as is a color so may only lie on metal
or neutral fields.
