[ANSTHRLD] differencing arms

Ok I know there are marks and systems of cadency for English and Scottish
armory, (I do read occasionally) my question becomes how would one
difference the arms for a Heraldic _Heiress_ of German decent? Was there a
standard way in period? or do we just chose a convenient way of differencing
the arms?
