About the green field and roses badge...
Much has been noted that the SCA will not register a badge fieldless on
which is a charged shape that could be a shield shape. Specifically, that
"(Fieldless) On a roundel vert, two roses slipped and leaved argent." would
conflict with registered armory of "Vert, two roses slipped and leaved
argent." because the later lord or lady could place their arms on a round
shield and it would be identical to the badge suggested. So that format of
badge is prohibited.
However, the submitter can register a fielded badge. Barring conflict, the
submitter could register "Vert, two roses slipped and leaved argent." as a
badge and choose to only present it in roundel format (though they would be
entitled to any other standard shield format if they wanted).
A conflict check shows:
The following device associated with this name was registered in April of
2003 (via the Outlands):
Azure, in fess two roses slipped and leaved within an orle argent.
**This should be clear with one CD for the change of field color and one
for the addition of the orle.**
The following device associated with this name was registered in March of
1985 (via Calontir):
Per pale counter-ermine and ermine, in fess a garden rose slipped and
leaved argent and another sable.
**This should be clear with one CD for the change of field and another for
change of tincture to half the primary charge group.**
These were the closest I found. If the submitter is willing to register
the badge as a fielded badge and use it only on a roundel, then that is
