Well, while everyone has redirected your question to the Calontir Heralds list, I will say that
it's a good question and one that has recently come up with the Ansteorran awards; so I'll share
with you what was decided by Star Principal for Ansteorra for this very same issue.
Calontir rules may differ.

Ansteorra has two awards that were recently closed and replaced with a new award:
Optio ---> became ---> Sable Talon (for Chivalric Combat)
Arcus Majoris ---> became ---> Arc d'Or

Our Golden Scroll scribe deputy was requested to replace a scroll that had been destroyed for the
older award. A question was raised 'should the old award be replaced or the new one?'. Star
Principal stated that the older award was the one to be replaced, as it WAS the award given at
that time and date, and the new award did not yet exist at that time; so it would be inappropriate
to give the new award.

Therefore, while Ansteorran scribes no longer create or paint the older awards, we do retain the
old masters and all unpainted/painted copies in our archives and some with Golden Scroll in order
for them to be used for disaster replacements - which has happened already.

Aside - I believe when the older awards were closed, that the Crown stated that all holders of the
old awards could congregate, meet, discuss issues with the holders of the new award, as if they
were one in the same. However, the OP will still retain the old award abbreviation as the one
presented and the OP is not to translate the old award to the new award.

Hope that helps in deciding the 'Trilliam Argentum' vs 'Golden Swan' concern.
