It has been many years ago but I did a badge consult for an out of kingdom duke who ended up using a ducal coronet like a collar around an animal's neck.  I've never personally consulted on a use of the Pelican or a knight's chain or belt.  I would have to agree with Daniel that crowns and coronets are far more common.  Though, if the rule changed, we might see that Laurels as a group want to do this more than the members of the other orders.
