[ANSTHRLD] Re-registering a new name.

Descriptive bynames were used in a lot of cultures in different periods. People who know Norse type languages better than I would have to comment on the specifics of whether "the Innocent" is a style of descriptive byname that would have been used; though it seems plausible.

Re-registering a name is processed as a name change. It is not an uncommon thing to be submitted. The new name needs to be documented to the same detail just like any other "New Name" (including the attached documentation) but you check the Action Type as "Change" instead of "New". Do not check the box for a "resubmission"; that is to resubmit a name that was returned. The only additional info you need to include on the submission is whether to check the box under "Change" noting whether to release the old name or keep it registered as an alternate name; you need to check the correct box and specify that.

Also, when filling out the form for a name change, I believe that you list your currently registered name at the top of the form (Society Name) and then note the new name in the field provided below ("if different from above"). If that is incorrect, I am sure it will be caught and corrected on this list today.

For awards and the OP, changing your name does not entitle you to get new painted charters with an updated name. But, once the new form of your name is accepted and registered, you just email the kingdom OP Herald and let them know that your official name has changed. They can work with you and the other heralds to get any needed info and will update the OP to reflect your correct name.

Thats what she said:

I can answer the second part, yes they can. The name I have registered is
bogsviegir, which mean, the archer (or something to that effect) and it was
allowed because in Iceland during my time someone might call you by your
fathers name + "son" ie Williamson, or they might call your Sæmundr the
archer.

"inn skærr" translates to "the innocent". A name that was given to me by a
great friend and I use it exclusively now. My question is whether or not
since I have already registered bogsviegir, if I should or can re-register
as "inn skærr". Also, how does that effect or apply to any awards that I
have recieved or might recieve as far as having them listed on the Heralds
OP site.
