[ANSTHRLD] Heraldic Heirs

In that case, if Daniel's dim memory is accurate (and I would generally defer to a dim memory from Daniel than a supposedly brilliant idea on my own part), the names would need to be transferred to children of the deceased so the pattern could be passed on to grandchildren of the deceased. Unless... If the parents took the grandfathered name format from the grandparents and registered names in the now disallowed format, could not the grandchildren take the format from their own parents?

As Daniel so often points out (see Daniel, I do listen/read your comments), specifics help focus a discussion greatly. Knowing what the name format in question is could open new thoughts that would never occur when discussed in the abstract. Tostig, do you want to post specifics?

I have a dim memory that
- the case has arisen
- the Grandfather Clause refers to "immediate family" or some such
- as a result, the Grandfather Clause cannot be used by Grandfathers
   or Grandmothers or Grandchildren
But I could easily be wrong. If such a question arise, it would need
to be researched.
