Greetings!

The office of Bordure Herald is now open for applications!  This
office handles external submissions – taking the commentary on
internal submissions and holding a decision meeting, making decisions
on which items to forward to Laurel for registration and which to
return for more work, and then polishing the documentation for the
Letter of Intent entered on OSCAR for other heralds around the known
world to chew—ah, comment upon. Obviously this position does require a
certain amount of book knowledge, but far more important is the
ability to read critically and be familiar enough with the Rules for
Submission to be able to make a good decision. The commentary on ACE
is there to guide you, and the answer is usually obvious in at least
80% of the cases, if not more.  If you are at all interested but have
more questions, please email bordure at herald.ansteorra.org and I’m sure
he can answer them!  Send applications to both Bordure and myself by
September 30.

It’s the start of fall tourney season, which means an increased demand
for voice heralds of all stripes, whether list or site or court. Be on
the lookout for those individuals of the, er, loud sort and see if you
can recruit them into practicing their talents in service to vocal
heraldry. And remember, if you are interested in court heraldry but
haven’t had the opportunity, the easiest way is to contact the herald
you know will be running court at a local event and ask if you can
help out in the back some how. Every court herald needs a backup
herald!

Remember, if YOU are the court herald, or if you are the local herald
for an event, you MUST make sure a court report is filled out and
signed by the sitting nobility. And then, of course, don’t forget to
send it in to Zodiacus!

Asterisk Herald is has already put the September ILoI up on ACE for
commentary. It does not include the submissions received at Pennsic,
as I just got those; they should be showing up next month. Enjoy!
