Greetings!

This is largely what will be in my July Black Star letter, so you're
getting an advanced preview!

We've had a fair number of positions come open lately, and finally all
are currently filled. There's more to come, naturally, but in the
meantime:

My utmost thanks go to Lady Coblaith Mhuimhneach, who as Orbis Herald
oversaw the southern region of Ansteorra. Her attention to detail and
to the heraldic needs of the groups in her area was outstanding.
She’ll no doubt be missed as Orbis, but as one of my ER deputies and
our new Sable Crane, she’s not going anywhere!

The long-vacant position of Armillary Pursuivant is finally filled!
This position is our heraldic librarian; Lady Castellana Donea is
responsible for keeping the library, and making sure that it gets to
consultation tables around the kingdom wherever it is needed.

Likewise, the position of Sigillarius Pursuivant has been taken up
once more by the long-suffering HL Alasdair MacEogan. I know that
heraldry.ansteorra.org is in good hands with him.

HL Estrill Swet has finished her two year tenure as Asterisk Herald,
handling submissions in-kingdom. She has done an amazing job, and I
thank her for her service to the College and kingdom. The new Asterisk
Herald is Lord Aaron Whitewolf. Effective immediately, all heraldic
submissions should be sent to him; his mailing address is as follows:

     Aaron Whitewolf (Ron Bentley)
     PO Box 1259
     Anahuca, TX 77514

Estrill and Aaron will be transitioning the office over the next month or two.

I am officially closing the office of Retiarius Pursuivant. Lady
Katrine did an excellent job overseeing the last transition of our
submissions commentary from the previous entirely-email based system
to the online system at ace.heraldry.ansteorra.org.

Done with offices, until next month anyway!  Bordure Herald (external
submissions) will be opening for applications soon, as will Solstice
Herald (coastal regional).

July has three events that are of interest to heralds: Crown
Tournament on July 10 will be in Stillwater, OK, hosted by the Barony
of Namron; as usual, field heralds will be quite useful.

The following weekend, July 17, is Round Table, hosted by the Shire of
Loch Ruadh, no doubt somewhere in the DFW area. As always, there will
be a Heralds Plenary meeting there, as well as a warranting class for
those that need it (or just want a refresher). Please try to attend if
you can at all manage it! It is a FREE event, as Round Tables always
are, and on my agenda for the plenary meeting is changes to the Admin
Handbook. I might even have an early draft available by then to peruse
and critique.

And finally, but probably most excitingly, I am happy to announce the
Ansteorran Heraldry and Scribal Symposium, to be held in the Barony of
Wiesenfeuer on July 31. Please note that this is a FREE EVENT! There
will be plenty of classes on matters both heraldic and scribal, so
please plan to attend, even if you’re not sure there’s anything you’d
be interested in – you might be surprised, and it’s free, so how can
you go wrong? If you are interested in teaching a class, heraldic or
scribal, Maitre Etienne is the event steward and will be handling
class scheduling. I'm sure he'll be sending more specific information
about the even and how to offer to teach to this list very soon.

In service,

Emma, Star
