Any Heralds interested in Syria, Palestine, or Egypt? I saw this post come through and while it isn't something I can use personally, I thought a few of you might find it helpful. Here is a link to the site and book search or you can find out more information in the two posts below: http://www.hamiltonbook.com/products/search?q=5536014&cat_id=&find=Find+%C2%BB

I thought some of the heralds here might be interested in this.

I find the Edward Hamilton Bookseller to be addicting, although these days I tend to look at their site rather than through the paper catalogs. Caution, it is very easy to end up buying a whole stack of books when you only meant to buy one or two.

Noble Friends, Especially Our Heralds:

While skimming through the latest Edward R. Hamilton Bookseller catalog, I stumbled upon a listing for a book that might be very useful to our device heralds: SARASENIC HERALDRY by L.A. Mayer. The listing says the book "Covers the geographical area of Syria, Palestine, and Egypt during the period from the end of the Crusades to the Ottoman conquest." It is published by Oxford University Press, 372 pages, 71 illustrations.
Currently the book is on closeout for $9.95. Hamilton's item number is 5536014.

Since most of you probably don't get Hamilton's paper catalogs (you should, they're a goldmine), you can order online via their website at www.erhbc.com/hbp . For catalog orders, they charge a flat rate of $3.50 shipping _per order_. For on-line/credit card orders, shipping is $3.50 _per book_, which is still a bargain. I have ordered books from them for years, and am very satisfied. If a book is out stock, you will get a refund within two weeks. No, I have no connection to the company.

Since I am not a herald, and am not on any of the heraldic boards, perhaps some kind gentle would forward this post there where it might be even more useful.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, That Crazy Scot
