According to Sunset Western Garden Book there are two varieties:
S. chamaecyparissus and S. virens
Also, is this a fussy grower, or does it even care where it's put?
I'm growing it in central Ca. where there weather varies from the 100s
to the 20s in soil that may once have been sand but now resembles
concrete.
The book says it will grow in any soil and any zone. It does like sun
although mine grows in part shade.
Hope this helps.
