Even regular chamomile and not dyer's chamomile is an okay dye plant. You
can take 4 ounces of the whole plant shredded up put in a stainless steel
or enamel pot and let stand overnight. Add 2 teaspoons of alum dissolved in
a cup of hot water. Add wahtever wool you are dying (yarn or fabric) and
bring entire pot up to simmer for 45 - 60 minutes. Turn off and let the
wool stay in the liquid overnight. Take out and rinse, You will get a
yellowish gold color. If you have more green and less flower you'll get a
less bright shade of color.
