This intereested thread brings up a major question for me. In Morocco, the
winter version of mint tea is made with wormwood instead of mint; it has a
slightly bitter, "hot" taste and is considered to be "warming"-a specific
against the winter cold. IIRC, I once read somewhere that it wasn't the
wormwood in absinthe which made it dangerous, but the fact that it was such
poorly distilled alcohol--something akin to bathtub gin.
Any comments?
