The reason why the list was started was to provide a venue for people to
talk about herbs within the context of the SCA.... It doesn't and I don't
specify what types... A great deal of the types of things I use and work on
with herbs is modern. Some of the things I study and hope to do better on
are medieval as well as modern...To divide the two to me is to limit what I
can learn and I love learning.....
My background is as an amateur, in that I have no formal degrees in Botany,
Bio Sci or whatever... it's studio art. I work in the Zoology Department of
a large University and I know more about snakes, fire ants and single sex
lizards than I'd thought I could. I have some professional skills in that I
sold herbs for a living, I worked with aromatherapists and alternative
healers.
To me it all relates to each other, eveything I learn can be applied to
something else. I believe in the inter relatedness of everything which is
a medieval concept.....
It's a standard joke in the Laurel circle here that I got my Laurel in
knowing things including the fact that if I don't know it I can find you
someone who does....The more I hear from ya'll on this list the more I
know who to ask if I can't find the answer.....
