A few years back I made the soap, concocted the fragranced bath splash,
mixed the bath salts with varying degrees of sucess. The best one,
however, which I still use and people ask for, is for dusting powder.

I refuse to use talc. It is nothing more that pulverized stone. It
cannot break down like organics can. To me it is in the same category as
asbestos and silicon. I like corn starch for many reasons. So I make
dusting powder with corn starch, baking soda and essential oils for
fragrance. I'm sure that you can use food coloring for color if desired
but I like the pure white. The ratio is 1/2 cup of baking soda (prevents
caking and adds some deodorant qualities) to a full box of whatever your
favorite brand of cornstarch might be. Put in as much fragrance as
desired. Sift into shaker cans (you can decorate the little shakers sold
for confectioners sugar/sugar & cinnamon combos with paints or whatever)
or, as I did, I bought the little basswood chip boxes, covered them with
the fabric contact paper and bought the larger powder puffs for gift
giving.

I coupled this with splash made from Everclear Alcohol fragranced with
essential oils of choice (Rose, lavender, or mixtures based on
perfume/cologne recipes) which I poured into small (4 oz or less)
decorative bottles topped off with fancy ribbon or raffia or other frill.
Made a heck of a nice gift set especially when I added fabric hangers
and some scented writing paper to match. Economical too.
