There's also another set of books that concern herbalists and apothecaries.
The set is by Candace Robb and concerns the widow of an apothecary and her
second husband who is a Welsh bowman. Some of the Titles include:

 The Apothecary Rose
 The Lady Chapel
 The Nun's Tale
The Bishop's Man (? not too sure) They are very good and they are set in a
 later time period than Cadfael...

Ah, yes, I've read at least the first two of those....... Good stuff! But a
querry--are you sure about "the Nun's Tale?" being one of hers? There *is* one
by that title in the series by the writing team that is Margret Frasier, one
lady of whom is in the SCA and has also, under the name of Mary Monica Pulver,
written the murder mystery set at Pennsic War, plus a few others with those
characters. Great fun, those are--wish she would continue that particular
series!

Ldy Diana, off to start the latest Susan Albert book, which I *finally* found
in paperback! :-)
