Mrs. M. Grieve A Modern Herbal 2 vol - about 1930, but very encyclopedic

Any of the Readers Digest or Rodale Press herbal books.
Also Sarah Bunney The illustrated encyclopedia of herbs
and there a Kathy K-something An illustrated herbal that is encyclopedic and
good

Grieve and Lust (the Herb Book), mentioned in a previous post, are both old
enough that the plant names, common and Latin, may have changed.

Rob Talbot and Robin Whiteman Brother Cadfael's Herb Garden is a good modern
introduction to Period herbalism. It includes a reasonable number of herbs.
Although the plants are in alphabetical order by common name the book is not
indexed and the common names are sometimes British common names not easily
recognized in America.
