According to Brinker, sassafras is hepatotoxic, dangerous during
pregnancy due to emmenogogal effect and, due to the fact that it contains
extremely volatile oils which are excreted primarly through the kidneys,
irritating and dangerous to kidney and other organs of the urinary tract.
 I believe that the kidney problems are the ones which are the cause for
the long use and large quantities cautions.
