I am blessed in that I rarely get headaches. So, when I do get one I am a
*total* baby and make sure that any around me suffer as well ;-) (I
really respect those who have them frequently and can suffer in dignified
ways.)

So, during one and only one time last summer I was getting a headache, I
tried feverfew. In the theory of "it can't hurt", I went out to the garden
and put a leaf of common feverfew under my tongue. I can't say whether it
was the incredible bitterness that made me start thinking of something
besides my head or if the fresh leaf worked. But my incepient headache
went away!

I just share this experience in the spirit of things that worked for me.
However, my sample size is admittedly small and very unscientific.

Has anyone been able to grow it on the window sill? I read that one should
eat a leaf in a piece of bread every day to stave off migraines. I wonder
if it freezes? Just thinking out loud....
