HERB - Melandra's preserved roses

I thought that sounded familiar!  I just found the source where I saw it.
It's the one I call my "Purple Herbal":  _Herbs & Things:  Jeanne Rose's
Herbal_  (By Jeanne Rose).  (Many shops have chosen to stop carrying this
one because of a section in the back called "The Secrets", with recipes
calling for things like baby's fat and boiling a live cat.)

The formula as you quoted it is pretty much exactly what's in the book.
