Speaking of fruit butters, I made a killer tomato butter this past year
if anyone would like the recipe. It's not period by any means, but it
darned tasty if I do say so myself. Great way to use up that tomato
mush that's leftover in your strainer when you make tomato sauce
(this is the poor college student in me still not wanting to waste
anything). :)
